The spectacular Côte de Granit Rose is well worth a day visit (c.45 minutes drive from Toul ar Roudou). It includes the splendid Tregastel, Loquirec (which has the most excellent restaurants on the seafront) and opportunities for almost endless coastal walks along the way. The coastal drive from Loquirec to Morlaix also offers superb views of the Granit Rose coastline.
(If you would prefer a more informal lunch break (or just a coffee-stop/glass of Breton cider) along the way, we would recommend Caplain & Co. We discovered this recently and it is a gem of a find. This rustic, no-nonsense café is part of a quirky book shop with a licensed bar and an interesting collection of books and hand-made gifts. There is a yurt in the seated garden area at the rear where they make crêpes (great views of the granite coast line from the garden). (Take the coastal road – D64 – out of Loquirec towards Morlaix. Caplain & Co. is an 8-10 minute drive from Loquirec. Poul Rodou, 29620 Guimaëc)
